David Moore – Carolina Panthers WR

Losing Curtis Samuel to the Washington Football Team during free agency was almost a given once the Carolina Panthers opted to place the franchise tag on stud right tackle Taylor Moton. The wide receiver got a big-money move to reunite with his former head coach Ron Rivera in the NFC East, leaving a big hole on offense that needs to be filled.

The Panthers made some notable additions to their receiver room during the 2021 NFL Draft in the form of Terrace Marshall Jr. and Shi Smith, with free-agent pickup David Moore also set to play a significant role in Joe Brady’s scheme next season and possibly beyond.

Moore joined from the Seattle Seahawks on a deal that might end up being a real bargain when it’s all said and done. General manager Scott Fitterer came from the same organization this offseason and knows full well what the wideout can do if given the chance. So there might be a big opportunity for some career numbers if he generates a solid share of the targets in 2021.

There is a lot to like about Moore from a skill standpoint.

He can go deep, impact things from the slot and also take carries out of the backfield should Carolina decide to use him in this area. Moore looks to be a tailormade replacement for Samuel on the outside looking in and of all the signings made by the Panthers in recent weeks, this one might just be the best of the bunch.
