What are the pro and cons behind the Carolina Panthers reportedly shopping wide receiver Robby Anderson for a potential trade this offseason?

There is no denying the level of impact Robby Anderson made during his first season with the Carolina Panthers. The wide receiver was a tremendous asset in the passing game – especially early in the campaign – so moving on without the player would be a huge decision to make after just one season with the franchise.

According to Charlie Campbell of WalterFootball.com, the Panthers were shopping Anderson during the 2021 NFL Draft and might continue to do this right up until the trade deadline. This is a big call for those in power to make if the report is accurate and comes on the back of the former Temple star’s best statistical year of his career by a considerable margin.

One of the more pleasing aspects regarding Anderson was his ability to become much more than the deep-threat target he was tagged with at the New York Jets.

His quick feet allowed him to create separation effortlessly to make a difference all over the field, with Anderson’s partnership opposite D.J. Moore emerging as one of the NFL’s most productive in 2020.

Campbell stated that the Panthers weren’t able to find a suitor over the draft weekend for Anderson. However, this is the time of year where injuries start creeping up so if Carolina’s still intent of finding a deal, one or more teams may become more willing partners depending on what happens at training camp.

With this in mind, we took a look at some pros and cons that are especially evident where a potential trade involving Anderson is concerned.
