Where will the Carolina Panthers use Jeremy Chinn in 2021?
By Dean Jones
The Carolina Panthers have a number of different options available to them where stud defender Jeremy Chinn is concerned in 2021.
Jeremy Chinn is a superstar in the making. The Carolina Panthers got more than they ever dreamed of when they traded back into the second round to take the player at No. 64 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, with his production as a rookie leaving plenty of reasons to be encouraged moving forward.
Chinn fits the exact mold of what the Panthers are trying to build. He is athletic, versatile, hungry, and makes plays at will, something that was especially evident throughout a phenomenal first season that saw him become an integral part of Phil Snow’s defense right from the outset.
He was unable to take part in OTAs due to a clean-up procedure this offseason, but it doesn’t appear to be that much to worry about and Chinn should be all systems go when business picks up at training camp.
Carolina has a nice dilemma on their hands where Chinn is concerned.
He transitioned exceptionally well to the outside linebacker spot last season. But the Panthers have a clear need to move him back to his preferred position of safety following the release of Tre Boston ahead of time.
There are far worse situations for the Panthers to be in.
But they won’t want to limit Chinn’s influence by doing this.
Snow has plenty of exciting young talent to scheme for in 2020. Chinn is a huge part of this and just how the Panthers use him could have some pretty big ramifications.
