Making the most of athleticism

Relative Athletic Score is something that clearly means a lot to the Carolina Panthers. Their draft process focused heavily on prospects with high RAS marks and hopefully, this can transition to further progress in a professional environment.

As stated previously, having elite athletes doesn’t guarantee success.

But it doesn’t hurt one bit.

The Panthers are going to be fun to watch in 2021 thanks in no small part to this athleticism and versatility. They don’t have much in the way of big-game experience to call upon – although last season will have helped many – but providing they aren’t overawed by the occasion with fans back in the stands, there is a lot to like about their chances.

Carolina’s coaching staff also have their part to play.

It’s all well and good having this at their disposal. But if those in power don’t harness it in a positive fashion, it will come at a cost.

Matt Rhule might not be on the hot seat just yet. However, team owner David Tepper has yet to experience a winning season since buying the team and if significant strides aren’t made, then the pressure could well be on in 2022.

This could go either way for the Panthers, in all honesty. Getting off to a good start is absolutely vital and if athleticism wins the day early on, then bigger and better things could be in their immediate future.
