Robby Anderson – Carolina Panthers WR

To say Robby Anderson exceeded expectations in 2020 would be something of an understatement. The Carolina Panthers got more than they bargained for from the wide receiver following his free-agent move thanks to a series of outstanding displays to prove he is much more than the deep-threat he was tagged with during his time on the New York Jets.

Anderson hit the ground running early on to become an integral part of the offense, which is always a solid foundation from which to build. His decision to reunite with former college coach Matt Rhule proved to be a wise decision and resulted in the Temple product going over 1,000 yards receiving for the first time in his career.

However, once teams started focusing on Anderson a little more, his production dipped slightly and this is a cause for concern.

His last 100-yard game was in Week 5 at the Atlanta Falcons and Anderson’s final three contests of the campaign saw him notch 100 yards combined.

Anderson also managed just three touchdowns throughout the season. Considering the number of weapons available to Carolina in the passing game, it wouldn’t be the biggest shock in the world to see his numbers take a dive in 2021.

Hopefully, Anderson can build on some encouraging performances in the final year of his deal, providing he is still around by the time the Panthers take the field against his former team in their season opener.
