Indianapolis Colts

Much like the situation at quarterback for the Carolina Panthers, the Indianapolis Colts are banking on a former top-five pick finally reaching his potential in 2021.

The organization made a bold move to bring in Carson Wentz from the Philadelphia Eagles. This is a feast or famine trade considering the recent regression that made him surplus to requirements after the team selected Jalen Hurts out of Oklahoma in 2020.

What’s important for the Colts right now is putting the right pieces in place to ensure Wentz can hit the ground running.

Their current options at wide receiver include T.Y. Hilton, Parris Campbell, Michael Pittman Jr., and Zach Pascal, so they might decide to be brave and acquire a veteran such as Robby Anderson if he becomes available.

One could argue that Anderson is an upgrade on anything Indianapolis currently has currently.

The Panthers would obviously be worse off without him in the short term. But the new-look front office is looking at the bigger picture far more than the previous regime.

Only time will tell as to whether anything will come from this. But for teams in need of a wide receiver who can make an impression wherever they line up on the field, Anderson skipping voluntary OTAs and the recent trade report from Charlie Campbell is a situation worth watching, at the very least.
