The Carolina Panthers made some exciting additions to their roster this offseason. However, there appears to be plenty of questions that still need answering regarding their protection in front of quarterback Sam Darnold.

Their pass protection in critical moments was a major catalyst behind the team’s downfall in 2020. If the same happens once again with Darnold manning the plate, it’s going to come with some significant repercussions when it’s all said and done.

Stealing someone like Terron Armstead would assist them a tremendous amount in 2021. The New Orleans Saints have one of the best tackles in the business occupying the blindside, with the former third-round pick earning a phenomenal 86.3 grade from Pro Football Focus as a result of his efforts last season.

Armstead is heading into the final year of his contract with the Saints. Another campaign of elite production would see the lineman become one of the hottest names on the free-agent market if New Orleans decides to let him walk.

It’s hard to envisage a situation where the Panthers wouldn’t make him an offer, especially if third-rounder Brady Christensen is more suited to the interior. But they also need to give stud right tackle Taylor Moton the bumper long-term deal he undoubtedly deserves at some point in the very near future.
