Hooker stated in a recent interview that he wasn’t in any great rush to pick his next destination. The safety is working his way back from a serious injury anyway, so his chances of going full speed at training camp might be slim if a willing suitor wants to bring him on board.

Having dependable people around Hooker is of pivotal importance moving forward. The Indianapolis Colts were a little too reliant on the former Ohio State standout prior to his injury, which wouldn’t be the case if he ended up in Carolina.

All the Panthers are probably looking for is someone to solidify the area rather than become a game-changer. Keeping Hooker healthy will be as important as any production generated on the field, so there are far worse situations for the player to end up considering the talent Carolina now has within their secondary.
