Jeremy Chinn – Carolina Panthers S

One of the biggest success stories where the Carolina Panthers were concerned in 2020 was Jeremy Chinn. The team made a bold move to trade back into the second round of the NFL Draft in order to acquire the former Southern Illinois standout, which already looks to be a shrewd bit of business.

Chinn was an absolute revelation for the Panthers during his rookie campaign.

Despite having little experience as an outside linebacker during his career, he took to the new position like a duck to water. Chinn’s first year in a professional environment was littered with memorable and in some cases, historical, highlights.

What comes next for Chinn is equally important.

Carolina is shifting him back to his preferred position of safety – although he’ll be seen more as a hybrid – and the coaching staff is counting on him to sure up a positional group that went through some complications last time around.

His athleticism should ensure that progress is made in the secondary. This bears more significance when one considers how much the Panthers could improve at cornerback following the arrivals of Jaycee Horn, A.J. Bouye, and intriguing fifth-round selection Keith Taylor Jr.

If Chinn can make further developments to his game in the coming months, the sky is the limit.
