Christian McCaffrey – Carolina Panthers RB

To say Christian McCaffrey was missed in key moments in 2020 would be the biggest of understatements. Mike Davis did perform well in the All-Pro’s absence, but his presence when the game was on the line played a leading role in the Carolina Panthers losing an astonishing eight contests by one score.

The early signs this offseason regarding McCaffrey’s health are encouraging.

He certainly looks the part judging by what we’ve seen in workout videos and voluntary OTAs, which could feel like a new signing for the Panthers if the former first-round pick returns to his iron man image of old.

Although the Panthers have a loaded passing attack despite losing Curtis Samuel to the Washington Football Team, everything good will still come through McCaffrey.

Carolina’s coaching staff must get the balance right with the face of the franchise to maximize his production and keep the Stanford product healthy. If they can do this, then it might make all the difference in their pursuit of playoff football once again.

McCaffrey is still the NFL’s best dual-threat back, which some have forgotten after he turned out just three times in 2020.

However, if there aren’t further complications on the health front, it won’t take long for people to remember and McCaffrey now has a point to prove, which is great news for the Panthers.
