Which Carolina Panthers players need to realize their potential during a hugely important 2021 season for the team?

It promises to be a season full of intrigue for the Carolina Panthers in 2021. There are storylines aplenty for fans to follow closely, with established players leading the way and a number of talented young individuals looking to make the necessary steps forward.

There is an enormous amount of potential on the Panthers. However, putting it all together is something that’s proven difficult over the last couple of seasons.

Especially with the game on the line.

What comes next will ultimately determine just how long it’s going to take for Carolina to become legitimate contenders once again. Looking good on paper is one thing, but it counts for nothing if the Panthers cannot turn being competitive into victories at the earliest possible opportunity.

With this in mind, let’s take a look at four Panthers players who need to realize their potential in 2021.

Donte Jackson – Carolina Panthers CB

Donte Jackson proved what he was capable of over the final few games of the 2020 season.

Now it’s time to back it up.

The cornerback is heading into the new campaign on the final year of his rookie deal. Knowing that a fully healthy season with consistent production will come with a big money deal either in Carolina or elsewhere.

Those in power within the organization would be wise to not let Jackson walk if he fully realizes his potential in 2021. He is fast, athletic, and is developing his skills in coverage with every passing year.

A prolific partnership with No. 8 overall selection Jaycee Horn is something that can be a real asset to the Panthers. So it’s hard to envisage a situation where the former LSU star fails to deliver.
