5 Panthers players whose stock rose at mandatory minicamp in 2021

A.J. Bouye – Carolina Panthers CB
Another recent arrival who caught the eye during mandatory minicamp was A.J. Bouye. The veteran cornerback might be suspended for the first two games of the 2021 season, but he promises to be a valuable piece of the puzzle when able to take his place in the lineup.
Bouye’s contribution during the offseason period so far has drawn praise from the coaching staff, which should stand him in good stead in the coming weeks before he’s forced to sit out the opening fortnight.
At least from the outside looking in, this was the perfect signing for the Carolina Panthers and one that can help the likes of Donte Jackson and No. 8 overall selection Jaycee Horn.
Bouye needs to regain the form of old after struggling with the Denver Broncos in 2020. But it’s easy to forget he was once considered one of the best in the business and is a former Pro Bowler to boot.
Getting off the field on third down was a real frustration for the Panthers last season. They found life difficult in man coverage and opposing quarterbacks were able to pick them apart at will. Bouye and others could change all that in an instant.
Having a front seven that should also play their part is another bonus for the secondary. Bouye has settled into his new surroundings well and hopefully, this can continue throughout training camp and preseason games.
