4 Panthers players who could boost their trade value in 2021
By Dean Jones
Will Grier – Carolina Panthers QB
There appears little chance Will Grier will be starting for the Carolina Panthers any time soon. However, the quarterback could possibly catch the eye at certain stages and make himself a more attractive proposition in the trade market.
This might be something Grier is keen on at this stage. The Panthers’ coaching staff has no emotional attachment to the player. Marty Hurney the one who brought him to Carolina and not Scott Fitterer.
If the Panthers had any sort of confidence in Grier eventually becoming the No. 1 option, they’d have done a couple of things.
Given him the backup job more often in 2020.
And provided the player with a route to surpass Teddy Bridgewater on the depth chart this offseason.
Neither of these things occurred and Carolina went with Sam Darnold instead.
Grier now has his work cut out trying to prove himself. If the player can make any reps in the preseason count, then it might see him generate some interest from a desperate team needing help at the most important position on the field.
The former West Virginia stud was hung out to dry by the Panthers as a rookie. But it might be a case of another organization seeing his potential and giving him a chance to showcase what he can do.
