What exactly do the Carolina Panthers have at DT in 2021?
By Dean Jones
The rest
- Bravvion Roy, Mike Panasiuk, Caraun Reid
Bravvion Roy displayed some encouraging moments as a rookie in 2020, but there is plenty of competition for places at training camp that means the former Baylor man needs to raise his game even more in the weeks to come.
Nobody knows more about what Roy brings to the table than Matt Rhule, who worked with the player in college and thought enough of the lineman to take him in the sixth round last year.
However, the gauntlet has been laid down and it’s up to the player to make the adjustments needed to make a bigger impression during his sophomore campaign.
Mike Panasiuk went undrafted in 2020 and joined the Carolina Panthers practice squad following his release by the Las Vegas Raiders. This familiarity with the set-up is something that is sure to help him at training camp, but the size of the task awaiting the Michigan State product is a steep one in pursuit of making the 53-man roster.
The same applies to Caraun Reid, who was a relatively late arrival into the fold this offseason and could be classed as an outsider to make the team with the other options available.
Overall, this is an exciting group for the Panthers to call upon next season. Producing the goods when it matters most is going to be key, but fans have every right to look forward with a sense of positivity.
