Okay, here me out on this one.

Austin Jackson may be only one year into his professional career with the Miami Dolphins. But his rookie campaign ended with a trip to the reserve/injured list and the organization made a bold move to select Liam Eichenberg out of Notre Dame in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The former first-round pick out of USC appears in no real danger of losing the starting left tackle position, at least initially. However, if some poor form or more problems staying healthy rear once again, then it might present an opportunity for the Carolina Panthers to take him off Miami’s hands.

This isn’t going to be cheap. But we called this article ambitious trade moves for a reason.

Jackson is a formidable physical presence with the attitude to match. His footwork is exceptional when firing on all cylinders, so it would be a huge surprise if he didn’t make some significant strides during his sophomore campaign.

The Dolphins have some lofty ambitions in 2021 that center on whether quarterback Tua Tagovailoa can make more of an impression in Year 2.

He’ll be heavily reliant on Jackson providing the necessary blindside protection that enables him to thrive. But the jury is still out as to whether he is a good fit in Miami’s scheme or not, in all honesty.
