5 burning questions the Carolina Panthers offense must answer in 2021
By Dean Jones
Who is starting on the Carolina Panthers offensive line?
Although there is an abundance of weapons and depth at skill positions on offense, the same cannot be said of the offensive line. The Carolina Panthers didn’t address this critical area of the field enough during the offseason and hopefully, they won’t pay the price with poor production from a patchwork unit overall.
Stud right tackle Taylor Moton is among the best right tackles in football. But just who is starting alongside the former second-round pick is relatively unclear at this juncture.
Center Matt Paradis will be in the lineup after restructuring his deal. It would also be a huge shock if third-rounder Brady Christensen wasn’t starting somewhere, possibly at guard.
The likes of Pat Elflein, John Miller, and Dennis Daley all have their own ambitions on the interior. Counting out rookie duo Deonte Brown and David Moore would also be foolish at this stage of the preparation period.
Left tackle is the biggest concern, to put it mildly.
Cam Erving, Greg Little, and Trenton Scott appear to be the frontrunners for the No. 1 spot. Not exactly the biggest confidence boost for Sam Darnold’s blindside ahead of a critical campaign for the quarterback.
There is a chance another veteran comes in to stake a claim. But realistically, this is the hand Carolina dealt themselves and whether it comes off remains to be seen.
