The Carolina Panthers clearly thought highly of Jeremy Chinn. They traded back into the second round to take him during the 2020 NFL Draft, after all.

But what he managed to produce on the field as a rookie was beyond even their wildest dreams.

Simply put, Chinn was an absolute revelation from the moment he stepped onto the gridiron. His energy, athleticism, and ability to inspires others around him were extraordinary – especially considering he was playing an unfamiliar role at outside linebacker.

Chinn was unfortunate not to win NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, which went to Chase Young of the Washington Football Team.

However, his production left the Panthers in no doubt Chinn is going to be an integral part of whatever success comes their way moving forward.

Moving Chinn back to his preferred position of safety is another intriguing element to the upcoming campaign that needs to be monitored closely. He’ll still get the freedom to fly around and do what he does best, but his presence within the secondary has some exciting possibilities.

Just how much Chinn can grow as a player is undetermined. The sky truly is the limit and any increase in performance should see his chances of a first Pro Bowl nod grow larger.
