Another player getting slandered for his production last season is Juston Burris. The safety performed way below expectations down the stretch and it left some questioning whether or not the Carolina Panthers would keep him around this spring.

Burris got a reprieve from the organization, who decided to release backfield partner Tre Boston instead. This was a surprise to some, but it’s worth looking at how the former Cleveland Brown performed earlier in the season to see what he is truly capable of.

His production over the first few games of the campaign was encouraging. This abruptly came to a halt when Burris was forced to miss time with a rib injury, which he wasn’t fully able to recover from.

The North Carolina State product is now back to full health and looking to help a defense that is loaded with playmakers. Burris should also benefit considerably from the presence of Jeremy Chinn at safety, who made a telling first impression at the next level as an outside linebacker.

Burris has plenty to in Year 2 with the Panthers, which is the last of his deal.
