Robby Anderson – Carolina Panthers WR

The arrival of Robby Anderson from the New York Jets in free agency last year was a masterstroke by the Carolina Panthers. He quickly dispelled the myth of being nothing more than a deep threat, which is yet another damning indictment of Adam Gase and his ability to use players in the right fashion before he was put out of his misery at MetLife Stadium.

Anderson hit the ground running over the first few games in a new environment, which always helps. Although things dipped towards the end of the campaign, the former Temple star managed to go over 1,000 yards receiving for the first time in his career.

This season is a big one for Anderson, who is looking to put up the sort of numbers that come with a lucrative extension next spring.

However, there is a chance last year’s production might be as good as it gets for Anderson in Carolina.

Christian McCaffrey is back at full health, the Panthers are expecting more production from the tight end position, and there is also the chance players like David Moore, Terrace Marshall Jr., and Shi Smith will take away some targets as the season progresses.

Anderson should still put up impressive numbers. But don’t be surprised if four figures aren’t attained even with an extra game on the schedule.
