Carolina Panthers depth chart: Wide Receivers

  • D.J. Moore, Robby Anderson, David Moore, Terrace Marshall Jr., Shi Smith, Omar Bayless.

Despite losing Curtis Samuel to the Washington Football Team in free agency, the Carolina Panthers depth chart still looks very strong at the wide receiver position. Some notable acquisitions were made during the offseason and if the new recruits hit the ground running, it’s going to be an area of real strength once again.

Carolina has one of the NFL’s most dynamic and productive tandems on the outside in D.J. Moore and Robby Anderson. Both men went over 1,000 yards in 2020 and providing Sam Darnold provides better distribution than Teddy Bridgewater, there is nothing to suggest this goal cannot be reached once again.

David Moore’s arrival from the Seattle Seahawks comes with some serious upside. He became a trusted target of Russell Wilson’s in recent years and has the potential to impact the game all over the field.

Much is also expected of rookie duo Terrace Marshall Jr. and Shi Smith, who offer something a little bit different. Both should get their fair share of targets throughout the campaign, but making the most of them will be crucial.

The Panthers depth chart has plenty fighting for fringe positions at training camp. However, the team clearly thinks highly of former undrafted free-agent Omar Bayless and he could be a wildcard addition with feast or famine prospects.
