Kenny Robinson – Carolina Panthers S

Even though Kenny Robinson is only entering his second season in the NFL, this might be his last opportunity to catch the eye in Carolina.

The safety was taken in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft following a colorful route to the next level that began in West Virginia and ended with a starring effort in the XFL before it disbanded. This wasn’t enough to ease Robinson’s transition to the pros, with the player released earlier in the campaign before being brought back onto the practice squad.

It’s a huge few weeks ahead for Robinson. If he impresses during camp and the preseason, the Panthers might take him onto the roster with little in the way of depth behind starting safety duo Juston Burris and Jeremy Chinn.

However, if the second-year-pro even shows the slightest bit of regression, then it wouldn’t be a shock to see Carolina move away from Robinson entirely. They do have Sam Franklin and the versatile Myles Hartsfield as alternatives, with Sean Chandler working with head coach Matt Rhule previously from their time together in college.

Robinson should see this as a fresh start rather than something that piles additional pressure on his shoulders. All the player can do is perform to the level he is capable of and let the chips fall where they may.
