Denzel Perryman – LB

It’s hard not to love the way Denzel Perryman approaches his work on the field. There is old-school violence to his play that gets fans out of their seats and although this has led to some injury complications, the linebacker wouldn’t be the same player without it.

Perryman arrives at the Carolina Panthers with a lot of pressure on his shoulders. He’ll be tasked with filling the void left by Luke Kuechly after Tahir Whitehead failed in this objective during the 2020 season, which is a sizable task by any stretch of the imagination.

The former second-round pick showed flashes of a prolific presence on the interior with the Los Angeles Chargers, even though his progress was hampered somewhat by a failure to stay on the field.

Carolina will be hoping that the same complications don’t resurface in different surroundings because the Panthers roster doesn’t have much in the way of depth behind him.

One thing is for sure, Perryman is going to be fun to watch at training camp.

He has an infectious enthusiasm and seems to inspire others around him. So if he can take some positive momentum into the campaign, the better Carolina’s chances will be.

If things work out as Perryman and the Panthers hope, it might just become the best signing of the offseason.
