Yetur Gross-Matos – DE

Although there were some obvious frustrations surrounding Yetur Gross-Matos’ rookie campaign, his production left more than a few reasons to be encouraged.

The defensive end demonstrated flashes of brilliance at times. But some substantial strides are needed in the coming weeks if the Penn State product wants a bigger role in 2021.

Nobody will know this more than Gross-Matos.

The Carolina Panthers roster now has Haason Reddick to utilize opposite Brian Burns, meaning the 2020 second-round pick could be a rotational presence on the depth chart once again.

This is a role he assumed well last time around. And even if this is the route Carolina goes down, Gross-Matos should still see plenty of reps given his explosiveness and surprising ability to generate pressure in opposing backfields.

The player will need to improve his run support to enhance his production. Providing Gross-Matos has been working hard on his game this offseason. the edge rusher’s athleticism could see him become one that stands out more than most at training camp.
