5 Panthers players who could be cut before 2021 training camp

Caraun Reid – Carolina Panthers DT
There is a great deal of excitement about what the Carolina Panthers have at defensive tackle heading into the new season. Derrick Brown’s outstanding rookie campaign means coordinator Phil Snow now has a formidable anchor to build around, with the addition of DaQuan Jones in free agency something else that should bring an upturn in fortunes.
Carolina drafted the intriguing duo of Daviyon Nixon and Phil Hoskins to further boost their options. Last year’s sixth-rounder Bravvion Roy performing well above expectations during his first campaign in a professional environment.
Morgan Fox is set to replace Efe Obada as the true three-technique in obvious pass-rushing situations, which should be seen as an upgrade due to the player’s production alongside Aaron Donald with the Los Angeles Rams last season.
These strong options mean things look bleak for Caraun Reid. The lineman was selected in the fifth round by the Detroit Lions in 2014 but has bounced around the league plenty without firmly establishing himself on any roster.
At least on the outside looking in, Reid has his work cut out in the coming weeks. There is even the chance he isn’t around at all if the Panthers get the chance to snap up someone else beforehand.
