What are some knee-jerk reactions the Carolina Panthers could go with if things begin poorly for the franchise in 2021?

There is a growing sense of optimism surrounding the Carolina Panthers and their ability to make more of a splash in 2021. This is a roster that is loaded with young talent and providing the veterans brought in during free agency all hit the ground running, there is nothing to suggest Matt Rhule’s men cannot push for their first winning record since 2017.

A lot has to go right for the Panthers to achieve this feat. It’s a precarious situation they find themselves in, with their fortunes ultimately coming down to whether problem positional groups can perform better than expected.

It’s that simple, really.

Fans are growing weary of underachievement. Losing eight games by one score last season was a damning indictment of their inability to get things done in crucial moments and things need to start trending in the right direction to alleviate some long-term concerns.

Lessons will have been taken on board by players and staff alike from the previous campaign. The NFC South also lost two key figures in Drew Brees and Julio Jones that should bolster the Panthers’ chances, although the Tampa Bay Buccaneers should remain a force to be reckoned with in defense of their Super Bowl crown.

If things go wrong in some winnable early games on the schedule, it could force some immediate changes for Carolina in a bid to turn their season around.

With this in mind, here are four knee-jerk reactions the Panthers could go with if things start poorly in 2021.
