By Dean Jones
Which Carolina Panthers options come with sneaky potential that you absolutely must consider stashing on your fantasy football squad in 2021?
With training camp and preseason games just around the corner, now is the time for fans start preparing for their all-important fantasy football drafts across the globe. This has become almost a staple of life on Sundays due to its ever-increasing emergence, which adds another layer to gameday that is only going to get bigger over time.
There are some obvious players on the Carolina Panthers up for consideration. Christian McCaffrey is going to be the No. 1 overall selection in most drafts – especially in PPR – despite missing all but three games last season. Others such as D.J. Moore, Robby Anderson, and potentially Dan Arnold are worthy candidates to become fantasy starters right from the outset.
Sam Darnold is the obvious wildcard. If the quarterback makes a better go of things following his trade from the New York Jets, then he might also become a useful backup fantasy football possibility, at the very least.
With this in mind, let’s take a look at five sneaky Panthers options that your fantasy team needs in 2021.
Fantasy Option No. 1
Joey Slye – Carolina Panthers K
Now Joey Slye went through some struggles last season. There’s no getting away from that.
However, the Panthers are willing to give him another chance and in terms of fantasy football, you should too.
Slye will be the kicker for a high-octane offense that has the scope to achieve great things in 2021. Providing he can rid last season’s errors from his game, he has the potential to put up some significant points throughout the campaign.
Kickers are expendable, both in NFL and in fantasy. So giving Slye a shot early could reap some impressive rewards.
