One of the more impressive performers over the early stages of the offseason program has been Ishmael Hyman. The wide receiver is hoping to become more than just a practice squad player with the Carolina Panthers in 2021 and he might end up being a surprise candidate for the depth chart if this positive trend continues in the coming weeks.

Hyman does everything well, even though one could say he’s not exceptional in any particular area. He is approaching the offseason with a sense of urgency that’s clearly serving him well, but making the most out of whatever targets come his way in preseason games will be vital.

Providing Hyman can do this and others fluff their lines, the player could find himself higher up the pecking order than many expect.

. BRANDON ZYLSTRA. 7. player. 87. .

The Panthers know what they have in Brandon Zylstra. He is a reliable pass-catcher who goes about his business in a solid if not spectacular way.

This wasn’t enough to earn many targets in 2020. Whether this is an opinion Zylstra can alter at training camp and during preseason games will ultimately determine what his future is in Carolina.

The former CFL standout has another batch of young hopefuls coming into the fold that he needs to beat out. Zylstra may have the experience, but that might not be enough this time around.
