Brian Burns – Carolina Panthers DE

The national NFL media can be accused of sleeping on Brian Burns. Even if anybody associated with the Carolina Panthers isn’t.

However, that is about to change.

Superstardom beckons for Burns in 2021 with another step forward. His gigantic leap in production and overall influence as a sophomore saw the former first-round pick emerge as one of the league’s brightest young talents at the position, with a double-digit sack campaign next time around a minimum requirement considering the talent around him.

It’s clear that Burns is working hard to improve all areas of his game. This first-class attitude should rub off positively on his teammates, with the Florida State product also emerging as a prominent leader on a defense that has plenty going for it.

If Burns progresses as expected over the next couple of seasons, then top-tier money won’t be far behind.

The Panthers shouldn’t hesitate to give the player whatever he wants. Dynamic pass-rushers who cause havoc are hard to find, after all.

Having Hasson Reddick coming off the opposite edge is only going to help Burns. Defensive ends across the league have been getting some serious money over the last couple of years, so there is nothing to stop Carolina’s best player on defense from getting a similar financial commitment if everything goes according to plan.
