What exactly do the Carolina Panthers have at the defensive end position heading into a 2021 season that comes with some nervous anticipation?

Generating pressure on opposing quarterbacks was something of a problem for the Carolina Panthers in 2020. Things did get better as the campaign went on, but not having a consistent presence in this particular area of the field was another factor behind their eventual 5-11 record for a second straight year.

Thankfully, this was addressed by the Panthers this offseason. Meaning their defensive front could become a positional group of real strength if everything goes right from the outset.

Phil Snow’s defense could be set for great things in 2021. They are young, hungry, and determined to succeed. Traits that will serve them and the organization well next season and possibly beyond.

Getting more out of Carolina’s defensive ends is of critical importance. Having better coverage in the secondary should also assist, so it would be a jaw-dropping surprise if things regressed given the talent now at the Panthers’ disposal.

Having a great pass-rush is the hallmark of every leading contender across the NFL. It can make a massive difference and turn a game on its head at any given moment, something Carolina might just have in abundance providing more influential members of the group reach or even exceed expectations.

With this in mind, we took an in-depth look at what exactly the Panthers can expect from their defensive end unit in 2021.
