What are the Carolina Panthers going to do with Brady Christensen?

Drafting Brady Christensen was the easy part. Finding the right role for him will be one of the trickiest pieces of business the Carolina Panthers need to decide upon at training camp.

There is a lot to like about the skill set at Christensen’s disposal.

His production at BYU was absolutely flawless protecting Zach Wilson’s blindside in 2020. Displaying the sort of maturity and athleticism that normally makes a smooth transition to the next level and obviously something that caught Carolina’s eye during the evaluation process.

Carolina actually graded Christensen higher as a guard, which represents a problem. The player’s arm length is the biggest concern, according to reports. So deciding where he’s best suited is going to be of critical importance.

Considering the Panthers’ lack of depth at left tackle and how accomplished Christensen was there in college, it would be foolish not to give him some reps there in the preseason. If it doesn’t work out, then slot him on the interior and see how the rookie performs.

Having this sort of versatility is something Carolina’s coaching staff clearly loves. While that’s all well and good, unless they come to a definite conclusion about where players like Christensen are starting the season, it could bring some complications.
