5 Carolina Panthers players who’ll exceed expectations at training camp

Tommy Tremble – Carolina Panthers TE
Plenty of focus has been on the free-agent acquisition of Dan Arnold from the Arizona Cardinals, who should be able to bring more in the way of production from the tight end position after Ian Thomas failed to fill the enormous void left by Greg Olsen in 2020.
But sleep on Tommy Tremble at your peril.
The Carolina Panthers were absolutely overjoyed when the Notre Dame product was available for them in the third round. Joyous scenes were notable once they turned in their card for Tremble, who is a physically gifted individual that has plenty going for him at the next level.
Tremble is an exceptional blocker that buries opposing linebackers at the second level when presented with the chance.
That’ll be more difficult in the NFL, obviously. But one would be hard-pressed to see him struggling in this regard whilst getting other areas of his game up to speed.
There isn’t much to go off from a pass-catching standpoint where Tremble is concerned. The Fighting Irish didn’t utilize him much in their aerial attack, but that’s something that might change in Carolina.
If Tremble makes the necessary steps forward, he could end up being the complete package at tight end. How he adjusts during training camp is the first big challenge facing the player, who is sure to relish getting the pads back on and going to work.
