5 Carolina Panthers players who’ll exceed expectations at training camp

Myles Hartsfield – Carolina Panthers DB
The Carolina Panthers are sure to get some improved production from their secondary in 2021. Jaycee Horn and A.J. Bouye will provide experience and youthful athleticism at cornerback, with Jeremy Chinn moving back to safety another thing that should help the backend enormously.
Carolina relied heavily on young, unproven players last season. This saw a couple of roster members turn in some surprising production despite going overlooked during the draft evaluation process.
One such individual was Myles Hartsfield. The versatile player made a notable impression at training camp on his way to making the team and the undrafted free agent didn’t look overawed at any stage when seeing the field in a competitive setting.
Considering incoming college recruits had their preparations severely disrupted in 2020, this was highly encouraging and definitely something Hartsfield can build on moving forward.
Hartsfield can play as a cornerback or at safety. He also got some reps at running back at camp last summer.
This versatility is something the Panthers value highly in their players. Even though Hartsfield needs to impress all over again in the coming weeks, there is a problem with depth behind Chinn and Juston Burris that he could potentially fill with a strong camp and showing out in preseason games.
Again, this is a big challenge for Hartsfield. But he’s taken everything in his stride since arriving in Carolina so far and this should continue in Spartanburg.
