Dan Arnold – Carolina Panthers TE

The Carolina Panthers struggled to find a good replacement for Greg Olsen last year and they’re hoping the free-agent addition of Dan Arnold from the Arizona Cardinals will help fill that offensive void at tight end.

While the expectations for Arnold are high and he should be on his way to a breakout year with the opportunity for more touches, the performance of Ian Thomas and Tommy Tremble could shake things up at training camp.

Thomas was given the keys last year to replace Olsen but struggled to do so. However, with more playing time under his belt, this is a pivotal camp for the player and he knows it.

Carolina drafted Tremble in the third round of the draft this year and while he is looked at as more of a run-blocking tight end, offensive coordinator Joe Brady has been on record saying he is much more than that.

Arnold should have a long leash to get the starting tight end position

However, if he fails to take on that role in training camp and either Tremble or Thomas take a big step, Arnold could fall down the depth chart or see playing time cut down.
