4 potential destinations for Robby Anderson in 2022 free agency
By Dean Jones
Which teams could potentially be interested in wide receiver Robby Anderson if the Carolina Panthers decided to let him test the free-agent market in 2022?
Robby Anderson might not have played in front of any packed stadiums during his first season with the Carolina Panthers. But that hasn’t stopped the wide receiver from becoming instantly adored within the team’s fanbase.
Of course, putting up outstanding numbers helped a lot.
Anderson proved he was much more than just your average deep-threat following his move from the New York Jets in free agency, going over 1,000 yards for the first time in his career and forming a prolific partnership opposite D.J. Moore in the process.
Reuniting with his former college coach Matt Rhule is something else that clearly worked in Anderson’s favor.
Although there were rumors of the Panthers shopping the Temple product during the 2021 NFL Draft, he remains an important part of the game plan on offense and if the wideout puts up similar numbers next season, it’s going to come with a significant amount of interest on the free-agent market.
Carolina Panthers will have a hard time keeping Robby Anderson.
Carolina faces a hard time trying to keep Anderson.
They have plenty of young studs who need paying sooner rather than later. If Terrace Marshall Jr. and Shi Smith show enough promise in Year 1 of their professional careers, then it could see Anderson free to test alternate options and seek a big payday elsewhere.
With this in mind, here are four potential destinations for Robby Anderson if the Panthers opt to let him walk in 2022 free agency.
