Philadelphia Eagles

This is a big season for Jalen Reagor with the Philadelphia Eagles. The wide receiver didn’t exactly get his NFL career off on the right foot in 2020, which was made even worse by Justin Jefferson’s production with the Minnesota Vikings.

Jefferson was someone the Eagles passed up in favor of Reagor. A decision they’d like to have back in hindsight.

Unless the player makes some big strides in Year 2, then it might force Philadelphia to look at a prominent veteran in free agency to give new quarterback Jalen Hurts another productive weapon to put alongside Heisman Trophy winner DeVonta Smith.

If this scenario comes to fruition, Robby Anderson would be high on their list of possibilities.

One problem the Eagles might have is from a financial standpoint. The team has a little more than $12 million in salary-cap space in 2022 before the inevitable sacrifices are made.

Anderson is arguably a big upgrade on anything the Eagles have currently. Although that notion would change if Smith hits the ground running after a sensational 2020 campaign for Alabama on their way to yet another national championship.

The Carolina Panthers might not have a choice other than to let Anderson at least test the market. If it’s a choice between paying him or D.J. Moore, then it’s an easy one to make.
