4 potential destinations for Robby Anderson in 2022 free agency
By Dean Jones
Los Angeles Chargers
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that the Los Angeles Chargers have a stud quarterback on their hands in Justin Herbert. The rookie was thrown into the limelight early in his NFL career and although there was the odd bump in the road, his production overall was nothing short of outstanding.
Big things are expected of both Herbert and the Chargers in 2021.
They have a loaded roster with plenty of exciting young players who could make serious strides. So if there are no big problems on the injury front, expect them to make a run for the postseason.
Looking ahead to next spring, the Chargers could be looking for more weapons in the passing game. Mike Williams and Jalen Guyton are both out of contract and if neither produces the goods consistently in the coming months, it might see them go in a different direction with $51.15 million in spare financial resources.
Robby Anderson has the dynamic traits that would fit in well within this offense. And nobody would be more thrilled with this potential signing than Herbert.
Imagine a pairing of Anderson and Keenan Allen for Herbert to utilize. The Carolina Panthers hold all the cards, at least for now, but if the player produces similar or better numbers on the final year of his deal, the chances of finding the right money are remote.
