  • Terrace Marshall Jr. vs. David Moore

The expected departure of Curtis Samuel to the Washington Football Team during free agency is something the Carolina Panthers had plenty of time to prepare for. They picked up some potentially useful additions to boost their chances in the passing game, which could collectively surpass what the former Ohio State standout produced in 2020.

General manager Scott Fitterer went by to his old employers to secure David Moore in free agency. The wideout has shown a capability to impact the game all over the field, with his reliability in crucial situations something else that could make an impression.

Moore will have the first shot at winning the third position on the depth chart behind D.J. Moore and Robby Anderson. However, that could all change if Terrace Marshall Jr. lights it up at training camp and with whatever targets come his way in preseason games.

The LSU product was simply too good to pass up for the Panthers at No. 59 overall. Marshall looks every bit a No. 1 receiver and if there are no further complications on the injury front, Carolina could have the biggest draft steal on their hands.

It’ll be fascinating to see how Marshall and Moore get on at camp. Shi Smith is another that could emerge as a sneaky contender for prominent targets if he hits the ground running.
