Denzel Perryman – Carolina Panthers LB

Filling the enormous void left by Luke Kuechly was a step too far for Tahir Whitehead in 2020. The Carolina Panthers are hoping for more luck where Denzel Perryman is concerned.

The former second-round pick enjoyed some nice moments during his time on the Los Angeles Chargers before deciding to join the Panthers in free agency.

Perryman is an aggressive anchor at the second level that comes with far more upside than Whitehead. How he acclimatizes to his new surroundings at training camp will be a must-watch.

Should Perryman hit the ground running, then it’s going to bode well for the team’s chances next season.

His drive and aggressive style of play will get Panthers’ fans out of their seats. This should also bring out the best in Shaq Thompson and Jermaine Carter alongside him.

This is a significant opportunity for Perryman to emerge from a key rotational piece to a dynamic starter. Carolina identified him as a top target once free agency opened and even though Kuechly’s influence cannot be truly replicated, becoming his successor is all the Panthers are looking for.

Perryman’s personality and ability to inspire others around him should also go across well within the locker room. A dominant camp from the Miami product isn’t out of the question and if he can achieve this, the buzz surrounding the player would reach stratospheric levels.
