4 quarterbacks the Panthers could sign for camp competition
By Dean Jones
Which quarterbacks could the Carolina Panthers potentially target for some additional training camp competition in the coming weeks?
There is no disputing the Carolina Panthers are moving forward with Sam Darnold as their starter in 2021. A bold trade to acquire the quarterback from the New York Jets comes with feast or famine potential, so the fate of the new campaign ultimately comes to whether the former first-round pick can finally start realizing his potential.
Will Grier and P.J. Walker will serve as the primary backups. The Panthers made them fight it out for the No. 2 role week-to-week in 2020, but there are plenty of questions surrounding both in the event Darnold is forced to miss time at any stage.
Carolina has three signal-callers on their roster heading into camp. But Panthers.com writer Darin Gantt recently stated the organization has held discussions about bringing in another option, although nothing has been confirmed as yet.
With this in mind, here are four potential options if the Panthers decide to acquire another quarterback for training camp competition.

Quarterback No. 1
Kenji Bahar
Kenji Bahar’s dream of making the roster of his hometown Baltimore Ravens ended before it began when they released the quarterback last month. This came following a period with the team at rookie minicamp that didn’t amount to anything else given other options at their disposal.
Bahar enjoyed a sensational college career at Monmouth where he recorded more than 10,000 passing yards and 80 touchdowns. This wasn’t exactly against top-level competition, so it remains to be seen whether he can carve out a role for himself at the next level.
Bringing him onto the Carolina Panthers would be another incredible experience for Bahar. It would also give the coaching staff another gunslinger with nice mobility to lighten the load.
