Sam Darnold – Carolina Panthers QB

No matter what team it is, the starting quarterback will always be one of the main attractions.

In the second year of the post-Cam Newton era, Sam Darnold will now be taking the reigns at quarterback after a failed experiment with Teddy Bridgewater at the helm last season.

Darnold spent the first few years of his career with the New York Jets, arguably the media capital of the world. So coming to Carolina might not be as stressful of a spotlight for the 24-year-old.

However, Carolina Panthers fans are starving for a winner and the play of Darnold will be pivotal for the timeline of this team’s success.

The beginning of the former No. 3 overall pick’s career hasn’t been great but Carolina believes he still has a very high ceiling. This is obviously why they took a chance on him this offseason.

Training camp is the first step for fans to see what they’re getting in Darnold. He made a good impression during the early offseason program, but this matters a whole lot more.

He might not have the glamor and fame that some quarterbacks do. But if he performs well, he’ll quickly become a fan favorite and someone who might just be able to fill the position long-term.
