Mike Panasiuk – Carolina Panthers DT

The Carolina Panthers deserve an enormous amount of credit for putting together an outstanding defensive front that should be capable of great things in 2021. They finally have some dynamic pass-rushers coming off the edge and two space-clogging tackles on the interior – which is normally the perfect combination for a dominant unit.

There also appears to be some quality depth for defensive coordinator Phil Snow to call upon. This was further enhanced during the NFL Draft with Daviyon Nixon and Phil Hoskins taken on Day 3, but one player who joined the set-up last year is also hoping to stake his claim for more involvement at training camp.

Mike Panasiuk went undrafted in 2020 before being snapped up by the Las Vegas Raiders. He was released soon after and become a member of Carolina’s practice squad from October right through until the end of the campaign.

Although Panasiuk has the experience of being around the organization last season, the task awaiting the former Michigan State standout is a steep one.

If he fails to make an instant impression and others step up, Panasiuk might be a sacrifice if Carolina decides to acquire someone for a different position that could be struggling during the early stages of camp.
