Which Carolina Panthers players could emerge as secret weapons for the team to utilize during the 2021 season?

The Carolina Panthers go into the 2021 season with plenty of intrigue regarding just how this dynamic roster will get on in the face of some stern competition. Their overall strength of schedule doesn’t appear that harsh in the grand scheme of things, so if everything gets off on the right foot there is nothing to suggest that big strides can be made in the coming months.

Obviously, the Panthers have some problem areas that could go either way. Sam Darnold’s production at quarterback and the protection in front of him are the two biggest question marks. Considering their importance, how they perform will go a long way to determining the team’s fortunes.

Big players with supreme talent need to perform above or equal to offseason expectations. The Panthers might also have some aces up their sleeve providing everything clicks into place.

With this in mind, here are five secret weapons at Carolina’s disposal during the 2021 season.

Having a dominant presence on the offensive line interior is something the Panthers lacked in 2020. This became an ongoing problem – especially in pass protection – and things cannot continue in this manner if Sam Darnold wants to succeed following his trade from the New York Jets.

Deonte Brown is the sort of guy that can change that in an instant.

His level of dominance at Alabama was outstanding. If he can bring this to the next level, the Panthers have a tremendous steal on their hands.

Brown has some issues to overcome, there’s no getting away from that. But he could be a surprise addition to the starting lineup with a smooth transition later in the campaign.
