What are some pros and cons to the Carolina Panthers potentially moving stud offensive tackle Taylor Moton to left tackle in 2021?

There is going to be plenty of competition for places over the next few weeks as the Carolina Panthers try and figure out just who is going to be starting along their offensive line. They have a mixture of veterans and unproven rookies to protect new quarterback Sam Darnold in 2021, but outside of two confirmed starters one could make a case the rest are up for grabs,

One player who is guaranteed to perform at a high level is Taylor Moton. The former second-round pick is among the best right tackles in the business after a three-year spell of supreme consistency, which rightfully earned the player a four-year, $71.24 million deal that included a $15 million signing bonus and $49.6 million guaranteed.

Moton revealed upon showing up at training camp that the deal was struck about 10-15 minutes before the franchise tag deadline. He also said moving to left tackle is something the edge protector is willing to do if the coaching staff decides.

This is something the Panthers have to figure out in the coming weeks before their Week 1 opener against the New York Jets. Matt Rhule will have a good idea of which route he’s going to go down, but camp performance will also play a significant part in the decision-making process.

With this in mind, here are some pros and cons behind the Panthers moving Moton to left tackle in 2021.
