Carolina Panthers defense dominates 11-on-11

There was no disputing who the big winners were during the 11-on-11 part of training camp practice. The Carolina Panthers defense was in a ruthless mood throughout almost every rep, further indicating just how special this group could be next season.

It’s worth remembering that players were only in shells and shorts, so it’s hard to determine just how much to take from this.

Brian Burns was a constant menace in the backfield and would have had multiple sacks had this been contact drills, blowing past offensive lineman almost at will on his way to causing some significant havoc in the process.

The caused mistakes from Sam Darnold and inaccuracies from others. Something that helped the secondary and can hopefully transition to the regular season with a few more weeks to sharpen their craft.

As for the offense, it’s a work in progress.

Darnold is learning on the job and the potential offensive line complications are well documented. Hopefully, this can progress in a positive fashion over the next few weeks.

It’s been encouraging to see the defense blossom over the last few days. The energy and power throughout the unit are hard not to love and should become the catalyst behind great things in Carolina moving forward.
