5 big Panthers observations from Back Together Saturday practice
By Dean Jones
What were some key observations during the Carolina Panthers practice at Gibbs Stadium at Wofford College during Back Together Saturday?
It’s been a difficult year for Carolina Panthers fans and others across the league. COVID-19 complications and restrictions meant most were unable to see their team in action last season, leaving a sense of detachment with the organization following wholesale changes to the roster in the first offseason under Matt Rhule.
Thankfully, all that looks set to change this time around.
Although the Delta variant means everyone is looking forward with nervous trepidation, the Panthers should have packed-out stadiums once again and there are even supporters permitted at training camp to further indicate a return to some semblance of normality.
Crowds were somewhat sparse over the first three days at Wofford College. But the Panthers got a tremendous turnout for their Back Together Saturday at Gibbs Stadium.
With this in mind, here are five big observations we took from Carolina’s fourth practice of camp.
Observation No. 1
Carolina Panthers fans brought the energy
One thing that really stood out throughout the practice was just how energized the fans were. They’ve been starved of seeing any competitive football for the best part of 17 months and it’s clear that football lovers won’t ever be taking this for granted again.
It did not go unnoticed by the players.
Make no mistake, they’ve missed the fans cheering them on. After some much COVID-19 disruption still fresh on our minds, this was heart-warming to see and something everyone deserves.
This brings me nicely to my next point.
