Tuesday date for Carolina Panthers putting the pads on

Another prominent element of practice was finding out when the Carolina Panthers get the pads on for the first time this offseason. This is a natural progression during training camp and is sure to create some additional competition judging by what we’ve seen in previous years.

It’s been a case of deciphering performance in shorts and t-shirts so far. While that is a nice way to transition into a grueling few weeks before the regular season, there is nothing like seeing players go full pace from a fan perspective.

As the old saying goes, iron sharpens iron.

Matt Rhule stated that the team will be in shells upon their return to practice on Monday, setting a Tuesday date for sticking on the pads and getting some true physicality into the sessions.

This healthy competition is sure to stand the Panthers in good stead. Rhule is renowned for setting a high tempo in almost every practice. So this stage of the preparation period is something that is going to help the coaching staff, too.

Everyone seems to be pulling in the same direction, which is another big bonus. There is no room for sentiment when it comes to earning a roster spot, but those on the field are going about their business in a professional manner and in keeping with what Rhule is trying to install across the franchise.
