Terrace Marshall Jr. – Carolina Panthers WR

There was an incredible amount of intrigue surrounding Terrace Marshall Jr. finally seeing the field. The wide receiver was held out of the early offseason program as he worked his way back from injury, which was the right call by the Carolina Panthers to ensure the second-round pick was fit and firing on all cylinders during training camp.

Marshall showed some signs of rust on the first day of practice. Again, not entirely unexpected when one considers he’s still finding his way in the pros.

However, what we’ve seen from Marshall since has been highly encouraging. Although there was some obvious nerves during Back Together Saturday.

The former LSU star has made some extremely impressive plays. Marshall’s size, speed, and ability to get open quickly have many believing he could play a significant part right out of the gate, which is needed after Curtis Samuel left in free agency for the Washington Football Team.

Carolina is exploring the idea of using Marshall as a slot receiver in 2021. Judging by his early production, this could be of significant use to the Panthers and their new quarterback Sam Darnold.

Things will get tougher in the coming weeks before the regular season. Seeing Marshall in preseason games and in scrimmages should tell us more about just how ready he is for meaningful targets in Year 1 of his professional career.
