Omar Bayless – Carolina Panthers WR

Fighting adversity is nothing new for Omar Bayless.

The wide receiver was overlooked by the top college programs and went undrafted despite some outstanding numbers coming out of Arkansas State. And his chances of making the 53-man roster last summer were cruelly denied by a serious knee injury that kept him out for the entire campaign.

Bayless was one of the players who really stood out for the Carolina Panthers at training camp in 2020. The coaching staff kept him around to get another shot this time around, something the wideout is clearly determined to make the most out of.

One thing that’s caught the eye from highlight videos and from those attending camp has been Bayless’ ability to create separation. Something that has drawn rave reviews and boosted the player’s chances of making it a second-time lucky scenario.

The Panthers are loaded at wide receiver with D.J. Moore, David Moore, Robby Anderson, and Terrace Marshall Jr. locks to make the team. Shi Smith is another that should carve out a role for himself, leaving potentially one more spot for others on the current depth chart.

Bayless has done his chances no harm at all early on. But whether he makes it might come down to how the player performs in the preseason.
