Matt Rhule is not happy

There was nobody more frustrated than Matt Rhule following Monday’s practice. The head coach demands excellence every day and considering the level displayed by the Carolina Panthers over the last two sessions, it’s clear the former Baylor man wants more from his players.

This is a big season upcoming for Rhule. He left a positive impression in difficult circumstances in 2020, which wasn’t exactly the easiest time to embark on your NFL coaching career.

However, the same leniency won’t be afforded Rhule or the Panthers this time around.

Team owner David Tepper is bound to want some return on his substantial investment sooner rather than later. Carolina’s loyal fans are also getting pretty tired of cheering on losing football after three seasons of languishing in the abyss.

Rhule will be the first to say when things aren’t good enough.

According to those in attendance, he stopped practice a couple of times when things went particularly wrong. So there is still a lot of work to do and a shrinking timeline to get it done.

The coach added that this team needs to get a bit more physical in pads. While this could be the making of them, it might also expose problem areas even more in the process.
