It’s clear that Emmanuel Ogbah is a player on the rise. The hugely popular figure was a key part of the rotation during the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl triumph in 2019, which earned him a two-year, $15 million deal with the Miami Dolphins that was also fully guaranteed.

Instead of becoming complacent as many players before him have done once getting paid, the defensive end further enhanced his stock with more responsibility on his shoulders.

He was a constant menace coming off the edge on his way to nine sacks, six tackles for loss, 21 quarterback hits, and 36 pressures from 77 percent of Miami’s defensive snaps.

The player nicknamed “The Nigerian Nightmare” seems right on the cusp of something special. One could argue that Ogbah has already outplayed this deal and there could be some big financial ramifications that come with additional progress next time around.

The Carolina Panthers could be looking for pass-rushing help in 2022 if Yetur Gross-Matos cannot make a sophomore leap and Morgan Fox doesn’t pan out. As stated previously, there is also the status of Haason Reddick to consider.

Acquiring someone like Ogbah might be a stroke of genius. Although much will depend on just what sort of contract he’s after.
